The thought itself. It stays in today's journal, in its place. This screen is its workbench, so the day stays readable.

Works today. Claude reads the day, finds the old open question and says so. You see exactly what it saw; notes closed to AI never leave.

The diamond is one decision. Five kinds of work, always on the same keys 1–5 with the same colour — one hand on the digits, the other on the mouse.
Why it flickers: what each kind of work should look like is not decided yet. That is the work ahead.
Recursion: a pick becomes the prompt for the next fork, like dialogue choices in a game. ` or Esc steps back; click a passed diamond to return to it.
